At the end of a country road in the Green Mountains of southern Vermont, there is a small sign - "Caution: Musicians at Play" - that marks the Marlboro Music School and Festival. Since its founding in 1951, Marlboro has become world-renowned as a retreat for exceptional professional musicians - a place to get away from the pressures and limitations of regular concert life in order to collaborate in the intensive exploration of chamber music. Marlboro Music today remains committed to its founding principles and to an ongoing exploration of new directions, as it responds to the needs of emerging musicians under the guidance of Richard Goode and Mitsuko Uchida, its newly appointed Artistic Directors. Musicians From Marlboro, the touring extension of the Vermont festival, presents the most outstanding young musicians in partnership with leading senior concert artists in programs of rarely heard works and masterpieces of varied instrumentation. For information on attending concerts this summer at Marlboro Music in Vermont, call (215) 569-4690 or connect to the Marlboro website at www.marlboromusic.org
